This is a term used to describe the climate within your garden. This may be quite different form the climate in the general region; you may be surrounded by trees which reduce the wind levels in a normally windy area, or you may be situated on a hilltop, which could make your garden several degrees colder than nearby low-lying places. Gardens that are situated in the lee of high ground will receive significantly less rainfall than in others in the same locality that are on the windward side.
