Woven plastic sheets and bags are handy for moving bulky yet lightweight garden waste such as grass or hedge clippings. Make sure that they have strong handles and are lightweight and tear-resistant.

Weeds and soil may be moved using a bucket. You may want to consider using a flexible rubber bucket for some jobs instead of a rigid plastic version; as the material is soft it may be squeezed to form a spout to pour materials such as compost and sand. It may also be pressed flat against the ground so that it can be used like a dustpan.

Trugs and baskets are invaluable for lighter carrying tasks, such as collecting flowers, fruit, or when doing the weeding.
