Turf is best lifted and re-laid in its new position within the same day. However, if there is an unavoidable delay before it can be laid, simply place the turf flat (grass side up) on plastic sheeting or paving, preferably in a slightly shaded area. If the turf is left rolled up, it will not receive enough light, and the grass will turn yellow and eventually die. Make sure you keep it well watered and check it regularly; it will tend to dry out very quickly in hot weather.
