Once you have assessed and measured your garden site, you'll be at a stage where you can finally start drawing up your plans. The first step will be to transfer all your measurements and notes to an accurate scale drawing, on which you can then base your designs.

Once you have created one or more designs that you are happy with, you can develop your ideas more fully by creating a structural plan, which you can use to assess the quantities of your materials, and hence your overall cost.

Finally, you'll be able to start create a planting plan, which will help you to visualise the colours and 'look' of your new garden.
