Disanthus
Family: Hamamelidaceae
This is a genus of one species of deciduous shrub from Japan, highly valued for its beautiÂful foliage.
Species
D. cercidifolius reaches around 4 m (13 ft) in its native habitat. It has rather heart-shaped, blue-green leaves which colour rich orange, scarlet or crimson in autumn. Against light, the foliage takes on a luminous brilliance. Small, lightly scented, deep purple to red flowÂers appear in autumn.
